You probable have showtyping setting to false. Set it to true with /ctc showtyping true, and if needed restart the app, and it will be fixed

That only partially fixes it. Typing out actual emotes or mentions does not work.

Which version are you running? Both app version and "branch", please (branch being stuff like "ave", "base", "themed" etc)

II am running 1371 with my own selection of patcheslatched and my custom ringtone. (On a side note branding and customversion are broken)

This didn't resolve, and I don't believe I had showtyping set to false.

Tried 56.0-cutthecord-1001 (1371) Noirscape and same app version with NotNite branch also has the issue.

I see that 1371 is introducing a new system here, and have confirmed that this bug does not exist on upstream. I am now taking a look at this issue and will report back as I make progress on fixing it.

I found the issue. Ironically, my first suspicion was correct, but I pressed the wrong key when replacing that so I only realized it was indeed that after I went through all the other potentials.

Anyhow, it's supplemental's smali/com/discord/widgets/chat/input/WidgetChatInputEditText$setOnTextChangedListener$1.smali.

I already am testing a fix. I will keep y'all updated.
