Topic 1. The Old Internet

Finally we can get this newsletter rolling!

Sometimes I sit there and wish that the Internet
was the same as it was so long ago. A magical wild west,
filled with originality, minimalism, and all around amazing.
According to Cheapskate's Guide[1], it's showing signs of coming
back... slowly. To me the old internet isn't just slow dialup internet,
it's that - and more. The terrible web design, the crazy chats
happening on IRC servers across the globe. It was paradise, before all
the drama, before all the toxicity, before everything we have today.
It was freedom digitalized.

There's a few projects that try to encapsulate the old internet,
namely The Old Net [2], Wiby[3], and Textfiles[4]. These alone are very
cool projects, some of which inspired this little newsletter.
As you can tell, we have a lot to say and we're planning it out slowly.

On our GitDab (gitdab.com/cc), you'll find this newsletter, plus some other
fun things we create while making CC. If you want, you can fork the project
and submit your own text in!
