words - Spell checker definition lists

|
The files in this directory are word lists for various languages
|
|
used by the look spell checker. The "words" file provides a list of
|
|
words in American English. The following other languages are also
|
|
provided:
|
|
|
|

Usage
|
|

|
|
|
|
To use, simply place in /usr/share/dict. From there, it can be used
|
|
with a utility such as look.
|
|
|
|
Contributing
|
|
------------
|
|
Add any new words into words-temp! To build the new words file,
|
|
run sort words-temp | uniq > words. This will give a sorted list and
|
|
make sure that duplicate words weren't added into words-temp.
|
|
|
|
Portability
|
|

|
|
|
|
words should be compatible with any standard version of look or any
|
|
dictionary/spell check program that can read from words. If it's not
|
|
please do let us know.
