ems_osmotron-OFL.txt typography: EMS Osmotron, a single-stroke Orbitron, is a bundled stroke font -- ems_osmotron, converted from EMSOsmotron.svg (Sheldon B. Michaels, a derivative of Orbitron by Matt McInerney, the League of Moveable Type; SVG font conversion by Windell H. Oskay, Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories), SIL Open Font License 1.1 (resources/stroke/ems_osmotron-OFL.txt, CREDITS.md). The P(DOOM) spacetime plate writes its first line in it, as the reference film did, now from the song's text. 2026-10-02 19:35:35 +02:00

ems_tech-OFL.txt typography: EMS Tech, a single-stroke technical face, and kerning only where a pair leaves a hole -- the P(DOOM) open plate's pen lettering ("r = 0.08" on the eye) is the reference's EMS Tech (Sheldon B. Michaels, SVG conversion Windell H. Oskay; SIL OFL 1.1, notice in resources/stroke/ems_tech-OFL.txt), converted to the .strokefont format as its glyphs and advances are drawn (bundled as "ems_tech"). StrokeStyle's optical: bool is kerning: StrokeKerning: Optical (as before, the default), Plain (the advances) and Holes, the spacing for fonts whose sidebearings already space plain pairs: the advances, and only a pair with an overhang or a slant (To, AV, r., 0.) kerned, its right glyph moved in until its closest approach over the zone both share comes 60 % of the way to the font's own n/o (or H/O) pairs, never nearer than a tenth of an em at 45° (ink profiles in 90 bands over the font's ink). 2026-10-02 11:12:19 +02:00

technical.strokefont draw, libs: variable-font axes on font families, and the typography primitives move to their own light crate makepad-typography -- FontMember gains axes: "wdth 125 slnt -8 GRAD 50" (any axis by four-letter tag; wght stays weight), carried into FontDefinition::variations and into the member's font id, and FontFamily::with_axes(&[(tag, value)]) returns the family read at other axis values (its own id and cache; a wght value becomes the member weight), so a document can animate width, slant or any axis with the real font instead of a scale. makepad-text-mesh keeps the geometry (the glyph extruder and 3D letters); layout metrics, outlines, fitting, stroke fonts, karaoke, text on 3D paths and the text.outline/text.layout kernel host components are now makepad-typography (rustybuzz + script-compute only, no draw dependency), so pure document crates can use them. Checked: cargo test --release -p makepad-draw --lib axes_tests (parse, own family per value set, same values same family), -p makepad-typography (15) -p makepad-text-mesh (45); a hidden makepad-motion render of Roboto Flex at wdth 25 and 151 and slnt -10 draws the real condensed, extended and slanted outlines. 2026-09-30 12:25:26 +02:00
